  • Crutches ... A sign of sympathy.

I was recently placed on crutches a week ago today. The day I got them, last Thursday, was the day I realized that some people are naturally good in their hearts. In one day, at least 6 people offered to open doors for me (including the bathroom door!). My boyfriend (different one this time around) was very helpful and patient with my crutches (but he normally is without them). People were very nice, and very patient with my hobbling.

But I also noticed that people look at you with those "poor girl..." eyes. I was at the horse races the Saturday after getting the crutches, and it was fairly easy. Except the stairs. And the people being jerks. Some people were very nice and let me go first, or made it easier for me to go through the gates and stuff. I always thanked them, and always had a smile on my face. But then there were the people who would bump into me, sometimes with the strength to knock me over. They would cut in front of me, accidentally bump my crutch. I never fell, but I was surprised at how some people don't look and don't care.

Then it hit me. Crap... I'm like that sometimes too. I am quite impatient with people that are slower then I am. I never cut them off, and I always keep doors open for them. But when I'm in a bad mood, I care less often. So basically, being on crutches for three days has helped me realize that no matter what kind of mood I'm in, I should never forget the people who are on crutches, in wheelchairs, or even have baby strollers.

It just makes their day to realize that there is some good in the world, while it seems like mostly bad. I know it made mine to know that people still care for strangers. =)

  • Do you have any body piercings? Do you want any?

I have three ear piercings. one cartiledge, and one on each lobe. i want my second lobe, and also a second cartiledge (on the same ear as my first). but i know that if i get my second cartiledge, itll hurt and be more annoying... xD  but i really do want my second lobe. i really like them. =)
